We got plans people!

I have been running around like crazy for the last 2 days! Lots of errands and playing to do - this was one of them! We finally picked up our plans and way too many $$$'s later they are ready to be submitted to the city of Highland! Hooray!

Has anyone seen Mike?

Mike is gone hunting with his brothers this week.He tried on his new camo gear before he left - what do you think?

Birthday girl

Yep, I did it! I turned 29 on Tuesday! Pretty crazy to be so close to the big 3-0, it used to seem so far away - like in high school, okay junior high, I used to think that it would never come because it would be double my life and WOW time sure does fly! I had a great day though - donuts and gifts started it out - I got portable ipod player, now I can finally listen without the headphones, computer or hangin out in the car! Already, I have enjoyed dancin' with the kids in the kitchen, and those dishes - not so bad when you can rock out! I also got photoshop - so exciting but little scary too!
I basically just piddled around for the rest of the day and enjoyed the visits and phone calls from a few friends and fam. (thanks again)
Mike and I went out to dinner(we tried a new Thai place) while the kids stayed home and had pizza with uncle Jeremy. Afterward, we had cake and ice cream with Chad, Jeremy and the Pickles! Yum!

Oh, and I have to give props to Chad for this cute tote - he told me that every girl needs a tote with brass knuckles on it! Who knew?

littlest cuz

This is Eli Jason Shepherd, he is the newest addition to the Bartholomew clan, number 25 in the list of cousins! We took a quick visit to see him in the hospital last week but yesterday we were able to go visit him again - Adi and Luke talked all day about holding their new cousin and Tiff and Jas were kind enough to oblige. Eli slept the entire time we were there but gave us a few adorable smiles while the kids were holding him! They must be kindred spirits! He was making them pretty smiley too!
Welcome to the fam, Eli!

True Blue Fan

Luke is one of BYU's newest fans! He got to go with dad to the game on Saturday and he loved every minute of it! Mike actually talked to him about it at bedtime on Thursday - so when Mike left for work at 6:30am on Friday, Luke thought he was being left! He jumped out of bed crying but soon quieted down when I told him the game wasn't until tomorrow. (He didn't go back to sleep, urg!) He talked constantly Friday and Saturday of "the balldame". Dad got him all suited up with a new BYU shirt, hat and football. They had pizza and treats and stuck it out for the whole game, rain and all! The hat and ball have been close by all weekend and tonight as Mike put Luke to bed, he called out "we gonna go to the balldame adain?" Maybe I won't get the chance to cross that off my fall to do list this year afterall!

Fall, here we come!

I have been in total denial about summer being over, just haven't been quite ready. But after I caught this glimpse of the mountains while at the zoo Wednesday I am finally ready to embrace it! The leaves are turning fast and I just don't want to miss it! Fall is my favorite time of year - I love it! I love the cool nights, I love the colors, I love being able to pull out the warm, comfy clothes. I love to see pumpkin patches and make soup for dinner! I love that the holidays are coming(my b-day included), football games and all the fun family things there are to do together!
Here is a list of a few of the things I plan to do to enjoy the upcoming season:
  • visit a pumpkin patch
  • take a drive through af canyon
  • go to the scarecrow festival
  • make dinner in a pumpkin and apple crisp
  • go to a football game (BYU preferably)
  • eat lots of soup
  • boo at the zoo
  • hit a corn maze
  • decorate cookies - pumpkins probably
  • carve pumpkins
  • dress up for Halloween...maybe
Wish us luck! Happy fall!

Cruisin'

Yesterday, we took a quick trip to the zoo with a few friends in between school and dance. The weather was perfect and most of the animals were up and about - except that darn tiger - he is always napping! Oh, the life!

This little guy was pretty much a pill the WHOLE time! Notice how he is running in this picture? Yup, that's what he did our entire trip - ran! (away from me, I might add!)

Ad's fav part was finally getting a chance to sit on the elephant trunk (usually there is a bazillion kids). They all think its pretty funny when he sneezes water out of his trunk!

Paislee was an angel at the zoo (as always) but our shopping trip while Adi was at dance was the highlight of her day - she got to drive the car with Lukey! Who new she was big enough? Ain't they cute?

Flashback

Just got to thinkin' - not quite sure how or why but...
remember back in April when we went to the zoo?
Remember the silver lunchbox that Logan brought to hold his treasures?
Remember the shrill scream halfway home followed by dramatic sobs cuz Adi sliced her finger (were still not sure how) on said lunchbox?
Remember how calm and collected mom was as she found the next exit and pulled into the gas station?
Remember how concerned both Logan and Luke were for Adi?
Remember how the pantyliner in mom's purse made the coolest bandaid ever?
Remember the doctor, who instead of telling us how silly we were to be there, showed us the special way to bandaid a finger? (you need two - one around the finger, the next over the top)

Yeah, that was fun! Here's to hoping tomorrow's zoo trip is not quite so eventful!

other sunday activities included...

I made a little freezer jam - raspberry and strawberry.
.

There was quite a lot of gaming - Jeremy and Chad brought 3 game thingys (this is pretty hilarious for Mike and I cuz we both suck! BAD! but, none the less, we did stay up playing 'til after 10pm)

And some chicken legs had a chicken fight!

Have a great week!

Sunday blasphemy

Today as I got dinner ready, Luke wanted to help...as we sat down on the back porch with a bag of corn on the cob to shuck he says to me - I love porn!
(he meant corn - just in case you were wondering)

Car randomness

Here is a conversation I had with Luke in the car the other day:

L: Hey mom!

M: What Luke?

L: I wub you...

M: I love you too

L: Yeah, I wub you and you wub me! Were the same!

That's my sweet, sweet boy!
Happy weekend, everyone!

Full frontal view!

Paislee - our almost 20lbs (18lbs 9oz) little peanut - took her first ride facing forward today. Not too eventful, I think she was a little confused at first, then found her shoes and got a little carried away trying to eat them...maybe we'll do some more cruisin' later on tonight and ditch the shoes!

No more luck on walking, her siblings are way too anxious to "help" each time we try and get her to walk :)

Ice cream cones, corn and cell phones

Yesterday, we were busy, busy, busy with lots of fun!
{Today - not so busy and feeling kinda crappy so I thought I would try and lift the spirits by recapping our fun-filled day!}
First off, I got to go help in Adi's class for the very first time yesterday! I mostly just did office work for Mrs. Christensen but I did get to see Ads for a few minutes and watch her put her pickle into the letter muncher for P day!
{yes, she thought of it on her own and couldn't wait to eat it as soon as school was out}
Luke and Paislee got to play with Isaac while I was out and Luke couldn't have been happier
{well, maybe if Logan hadn't been at preschool}
Once school got out, we met up with the Pickle's and took a quick trip to the farm @ TP. But, not before eating yummy lunch at the deli and getting ice cream cones for the kids. This is always a bit stressful to me - the kids don't like to stay seated, there are lots of lines and drinks that are sure to be spilled {only 2 yesterday - Paislee grabbed Ike's and Logan dropped his} but the food is so delicious that we made it through and it was totally worth it! The ice cream cones were the highlight - Paislee thought she was sooo cool and ate every bite on her own! {She has become quite the eater in the last week or so - we are hoping this will help her grow and maybe hit 20lbs in the near future!}

Afterwards, we headed to the farm. Adi and Logan lead the way and knew just what they wanted to do...they played in the jail, pet the big horses, rode the ponies and fed the goats, chickens and turkeys. This last task was the favorite - they all filled their pockets with corn and went around letting the animals eat right out of their hands, okay, Luke was a little afraid so he just threw it at them. Both of my kids thought they would save a little corn for next time which actually ended up being corn all over my bedroom floor and all over Luke's bed. Yep, they both forgot and I emptied their pockets as I picked them up to put them in the laundry! Next time all corn will be confiscated before we leave!

After TP we had dance, naps, dinner and then a quick trip to the park before bath/bed time.
Luke was hilarious when he whipped out his cell phone {my old one} and started calling Jeremy {who was there with us} as he walked UP the slide. They had a nice little chat - it was super funny!
Mom of course forgot her camera all day long so these blurry photos are in thanks to the lovely camera phone {hoping I didn't just spend a fortune emailing them to my camera, wanna check on that Mike?}

There was our happy yesterday - now I am off to try and make this one a little happier...any suggestions?

can't catch me....i'm the gingrebread man!

Adi came home with her first school project while I was in Arizona. They have been learning about the gingerbreadman {they went on hunt for him through the school and couldn't find him but he did manage to leave them cookies while they were out!} "Our" project was to take the plain white gingerbread girl and decorate it to resemble Adilynn and what she likes to do...here are the dancers! Aren't they cute!

My mother, the celebrity! {and CE}

I took a little getaway this last weekend to go to Creative Escape in Arizona. {scrapbook thingy put on by Heidi Swapp and Bazzil} It was thurs - sat and my mom had been asked to be one of the 7 teachers. I didn't want to miss out on the guaranteed spot {it originally sold out in like 90 secs} so I signed up to go even though the friends who were originally interested couldn't make it. My mom teaches 6 card classes with 200+ students each month so I know that she is good and loved but what I was did NOT know was that she was now an instant celebrity! As I called home the first night, this was my conversation with Mike:

M -where is your mom?
K - oh, she's at her trunk show, signing autographs

M - {sigh} no really, where is she?

K - at the trunk show, signing autographs!

M - are you serious? signing autographs?{laughing}

K - yeah

M - do these people even know your mom?{more laughing}

Needless to say, we laughed about this several times over the weekend but before and after each class she would have lines of people wanting her autograph and pictures with her. All too crazy! Luckily, I was able to catch a bit of the action when I took her class. The pictures above were my proof for Mike and cause for future entertainment.
The weekend was loads of fun and awesome projects! The teachers there were amazing and I am so proud to have my mom be grouped with such talented women! I have a bazillion unfinished projects but I am anxious to finish and will post the finished results soon! As for the friends, I did happen to meet a few but still plan on forcing Stephanie to attend with me next time!
By the end of the weekend, I was exhausted and missed my family like crazy! I am so happy to see their sweet faces! oh, and btw - Paislee took a couple steps today!
{thanks for waitin' for me!}

"the devil made me do it"

How do 3, sweet, little girls go from playing house{mom and twin sisters who are 18 and can drive} to throwing full, unopened soda cans against the house hoping to make them explode?
Not sure but caught them mid-explosion and loaded up, ready to keep going with all 20+ cans that Mike had left out back while cleaning out the cooler. When I asked if they thought it was a very good idea, Adi said "yeah, they explode really good and they were just out here" When I said that Bailee and Abby's mom wasn't gonna be happy that they were covered in soda, Bailee said "oh, we get covered in soda all the time" Sure you do!
Not quite sure what to say and trying not to laugh - I ran to find the camera, no luck! Better luck next time Adi has a "Ramona" moment, just hope she doesn't tell me "the devil made me do it!"

Paislee is ONE!

A few things we love about Paislee:
  • you wave each time we leave the house
  • you growl when you aren't being fed fast enough
  • you give the best kisses {mmmmmah!}
  • you are facinated with hair and love to play with mom and adi's when we hold you
  • you always put your face in the bubbles while in the tub so you look like an old man with a beard
  • you have a smile for everyone - some family members even call you "smiley"
  • you give real, squeezing, snuggly, cuddly hugs to just about anyone
  • you have BIG beautiful eyes {still mostly blue}
  • you bring so much happiness to our family

We love you Paislee and are so glad to have such a cute one year old as part of our family! Happy birthday, princess!
