just like dad

All lathered up!
"I look like a nerd!" is what he told me.
" Oops, gotta check the mirror!"
"Pais, you wanna try it?"
Cheese!
Paislee was so funny - she knows just what to do when I got the camera out and kept trying to get Luke to say cheese too while I was trying to take her piture. It sure is evident that these kiddos are watching our every move - nerd comment and all!

Some more questions...

*Don't ya just love spending $25 on Bazzil cardstock Thursday night, only to have it go on sale Monday morning @ 40%off?

*When a wife takes her husband lunch {in a blizzard, with 3 kids} because he is swamped and too busy working - only to find him in a heated Foosball game with 3 other co-workers - should she be upset?

*And most importantly, do you think this little one might be excited that her big sister played dress-up with her?

Just wondering!

weekend movie review

I thought I would go ahead and give a quick review on our weekend {despite the next one being right around the corner, yay!} Mine was the best kind of all - filled with lots to do with family and friends!

It all started with scrapbook group...we forgoed the scrapbooking and opted for a girls night out. Dinner at Red Robin and then 2 movies. We saw 27 Dressed and Juno - both soooo good! I don't think I can remember ever pulling a double feature besides the drive-in's back in the days. These girls are so much fun and I laughed all night!
The next day was the monthly get-together with my "girls" from high school. We went out for pizza and bowling, we were all pretty pathetic at the bowling but it was fun to sit and talk.
That night we went to dinner with Mike's "pals" from high school. We were to {finally} meet Boley's fiance but due to a snow storm in Buffalo this has been postponed once again! But dinner still went on! And since none of the pals had experienced Smart Cookie we went there for dessert too. As is custom, the stories from their past started up and had us all laughing HARD! I now know that there is a east and west side of AF and that Sharalee should never allow Ben to drink{as in anything!} and go to the movies! ;) Unfortunately, all couples had to be home early due to babysitting issues, as for Mike and I, we had a babysitter and absolutely refuse to go home before the best part of getting a babysitter {bedtime} was accomplished so we went to one more movie! We saw National Treasure - fun but so unbelieveable!

Monday, Old Man Winter dumped like a foot of snow on us so we took full advantage and went sledding with our kids.
*little kids>parents = lots of work
We definitely got a work out carrying kids up the mountain and found we were all much happier when we opted for the even smaller hill.
Adi loved going by herself, Luke was only happy when someone was carrying him or sledding with him and Pais was a trooper, up for whatever and so cute all bundled up!

Have a way cool day!

Does this look comfy to anyone?

Miley is known for sleeping on her back,with paws up in the air quite often but the face smooshed up against the door was new to us today! She is dead asleep here!
*I would also like to note that she usually has a nice fluffy pad to sleep on BUT every couple weeks or so she decides to tear it to pieces and she has not yet earned a new one. She does, on the other hand, still have her own personal space heater while I freeze each night when I climb into bed!

Fixin' it!

I am sure that I have mentioned many times that my husband is not exactly the kind you call handy.
Most times he is guilty of breaking instead of fixing things.
But Saturday was one of those time I stand corrected...
he was off to Home Depot early with a list of things to be done and quickly got going on his many projects for the day. I am happy to report that the tile in our bathroom looks complete, the walls are somewhat back to normal {don't ask} and my car is parked inside the garage!
The best part of all was his little helper, she ran to get her{Luke's} tools when she saw dad with his...I would hear Mike go BANG BANG BANG which was quickly followed by a TAP TAP TAP by Paislee!
And as soon as I got the camera out she thought it was time for a photo shoot...so I thought I would share a couple.

Happy 100th post!

Luke's party

I was just thinking how awesome it is that I can take 150 pictures of Luke's birthday and not have any worries! Hip, hip hooray for digital cameras!
{and classes to learn how to use them}

And now, for the promised update on Luke's party!

We went to Jump On It - tons of tramps all lined up and a few slides/bounce houses! Great for kids of all ages and even better for moms not wanting to entertain 3-3 year olds, 3-2 year olds, a 4 year old, 5 year old and 1 year old. Also, great for the moms that don't need another reason to clean the house!

We all played for an hourish, got hot, sweaty and tired, and finished the party off with cake, ice cream and PRESENTS!

I think Luke's cousins blew out his candles for him, but don't worry - (aunt)Amie made it up to him by feeding him his cake and ice cream!
I guess Luke said "I need some help here!" and so she helped.
Don't worry, they aren't pampered like this at home!

And my favorite picture of all 150...

... isn't Jeremy's hair cool!

online shopping...

...is grandma stippy's new fav past-time.
Between christmas and luke's b-day she has probably sent the UPS man to our home 20+ times during the past month.
{no complaints here, we LOVE it!}
Pretty sure that today's package will be the last of 'em for awhile so we enjoyed every bit of it!

Oh, and here is the actual gift.
{almost forgotten when the 6 sheets of bubble wrap provided us with a good 10 minutes of entertainment}
Thanks grandma!

A little twitterpated

I am usually not one to have real crushes on unreal people...
I mean, I enjoy McDreamy or Edward Cullen as much as the next girl but this has grown into a super sized crush!
Don't worry, Mike and I watch Tim Riggins/Friday Night Lights together {football+cute boy=happy husband & wife}!
Just thought I would share, enjoy!

Mama's Boy

I would have never thought that a boy
{remember, I have 4 little brothers}
could be such a blessing...
But this little guy has been a complete mama's boy from the beginning
{maybe it was our constant companionship for his first 4.5 days in the hospital, seriously, he rarely left my arms/bed and never my room}
and I have loved every second of it!
All THREE years! And he is still as sweet as ever!
Happy Birthday Luke!
*more to come on the "way awesome" birthday party soon!

PJ Day

It's pajama day at Adi's school today! They were to wear their pj's, bring a favorite stuffed animal and a pillowcase. Adi was super excited because dad ran out and bought her cute polka-dotted dog jammies so she could look her best!
Mom, on the other hand, is wondering when she might get a mandatory jammie day? If she did, she might cuddle up with a blanket and catch up on a little of this{seems to be stacking up between book club and generous sister-in-laws :)}

And of course, there would have to be copious amounts of hot cocoa, made by mom's new friend Mr. Cocoa Latte.....yum!

Happy Friday {jammie day}!

Once there was a snowman

tall, tall, tall!
Adi couldn't let Dad enjoy the snow without her on Sunday {he was shoveling the driveway} so she joined him! Once the work was done, there was a snowball fight which turned into this cute little man!

bitter sweet

Last night, we got together to say our final goodbyes to Mike's parents before they left on an early flight this morning - off to south africa for the next 23 months as missionaries. It was really neat to see the excitement they have to share the gospel, there were quite a few tears and lots of hugs but we know that time will pass quickly and the people of Durban will be blessed to have such a caring and strong couple to teach them the gospel. We are grateful for their wonderful example and sacrifice and wish them the best of luck!
We love you!

kinda funny

One thing I really enjoy while at church is watching the different families and how they interact. Some families make me a little envious - how do they get their kids to act soooo good? - other families reassure me - my kids aren't that bad. And other times it is just cute to see little things that happen when no one is supposed to be watching...
Today, I loved catching little baby Josh as his eyes were wondering, checking things out and getting a HUGE grin when he noticed I was watching him.
I loved to watch the little girl coloring in front of me get so excited when her older brother told her she was doing a great sky.
I secretly hoped that Adi and Luke could end up like the teenage brother and sister behind me who got along so well, the older brother was scratching his little sisters back {something my brothers NEVER would have done} and then a few moments later - startling me back to reality - I heard the same brother say{loudly} "ugh, your breath smells like crap! Didn't you brush your teeth?" she meekly replied "yes" to which the brother says(and at this point it is all I can do not to bust out laughing, grateful I am in front and they can't see the huge grin on my face) "with what a piece of poo!?!"
Good to know that nobody is perfect! Adi and Luke could very well turn out just like them and still have their moments!
Oh, and in case you felt a little sad for the girl, its okay, mom quickly gave the daughter some gum and all was forgotten...or so they thought! ;)

Organization anyone?

Yesterday, as I was getting dinner ready, Adi brought me this....
this is the number for organization! They have the coolest purse organizer - you can find anything in it BLINDFOLDED! {this was the sales pitch, all given by my almost 6 year old daughter} Who knew there were infomercials during Hannah Montana?!? Anyway, just thought I would pass it along to any of you who might need to find something in your purse while blindfolded.
Maybe Adi thought I was interested because I finally organized our game/linen closet after months of total chaos. Yay me!
Let me introduce to you the Bartholomew Basement! This small {finished} space has done wonders to my happiness!
Adilynn's new room!

She is loving that she has her very own, pink garbage can!
Plus 1 bathroom!
Minus shower door {coming soon}

And last but not least - the Play Room! Pretty much filled it right up with toys, but after a crazy {dump everything out} New Years Eve party, it took less than 10 minutes for me and Ads to clean up! Yay, yay, yay!
Happy Thursday!
