Probably not the best morning to mop my floor...

As I was mopping the floor this morning, I got to thinking' that tomorrow was the big "H" and I never did make sugar cookies...we aLWaYS decorate cookies for Halloween (and any other day you consider a holiday) so I threw together some dough (almost forgot the sugar in the sugar cookies, YIKES) then I threw the kids in the burb (I burnt out my mixer -once again) and I headed to the Walmart, yuck, did some speedy shopping, called a few friends, and we had ourselves a cookie party!
Can't say I expected it to be quite so fun but these girls are growing up and boy did they have fun! They found out:
  • its fun to get frosting on the sides, cuz you can always lick your fingers
  • that snitching candy is A-Ok - frosting is hard work!
  • and that grape koolaid goes great with just about anything!

Luke, of course, didn't get that frosting can be an action word and focused on just eating the frosting (and candy) then he figured he could combine the leftover koolaid (all 3 cups) into one for himself and instead spilled it on the floor (please note the title of this post). Paislee just sat back and enjoyed Luke's cookies and then made them into crumbs, which then went onto the floor...

Paislee is such a goofball! I am convinced we have an entertainer on our hands!
(Not quite sure if that's a good thing or not...)

After dinner, we took care of another matter of pressing business and carved our pumpkins! Actually, Mike and I carved the pumpkins that the kids had designed on our (oh, so cool) computer software that I picked up for $5 at the Vineyard pumpkin patch! (I usually suck at carving but I rocked it this year!)

Check out Adi being a really sweet sister to Luke - he was a little scared to come out and take pictures by the pumpkins because (as he later said in his prayers) they were put on fire! Well, off to bed now(hoping all the "guts" on my kitchen floor have disappeared while I was writing this)...we've got a parade, dance performance, dinner in a pumpkin and LOTS of trick-or-treating to do tomorrow!

Happy Halloween!

Halloweenish and Productivish

We are feeling {VeRY} festive today
and
we plan on wearing these cute
ORaNGe and BLaCK
HaLLoWeeN outfits as MuCH as humanly possible
(aka~as much as mom does the laundry)
for the next 6 days, the count down is on!

On another note, I am feeling OOBER (sp?) productive...
I went shopping at Alby's this morning,
stocked {back} up on several canned goods,
then came home and I didn't just put them away...
(there would be no room anyway -
can't wait for the HuGe pantry
that I will, one day {hopefully} have)
I oRGaNiZeD the problem areas!
and {the best part} it FiT!
(barely)

I even threw some orange chicken,

(new recipe - I'll let you know)

into the crock pot for dinner,

Sooo, I am feeling {absolutely} no guilt

about spending aLL of nap time blogging!

Also, we are looking forward to the

CoSTuMe PaRTY

we were invited to tomorrow,

which will start off our fun for the weekend!

Here is a peek at Adi's costume, she did this at school!

HaPPy 6 days 'til HaLLoWeen!!!

She's got it down!

I was told that I needed some video on my blog by one of Mike's friends the other day. Here is my first attempt, there is no sound on my camara, but no need in this instance! Just sit back and watch her wobble around!

Our growing family...

We took a vote today...Dad, Ads and Paizers won and this is now the newest member of our family. Her name is Miley Montanna (in honor of Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus) she will be 7 weeks old tomorrow.

I guess Mike has had this in the works for weeks on the off chance I gave in. He convinced the kids while I was out on Friday night and the two of us took time out of our anniversary date to go take a look. But who can say no to a face like this? Adi is in love, Luke is warming up, Paislee thinks she is super cool. I agree - she is cute but I refuse to take any responsibility for all the yucky stuff that comes with a puppy. This said, welcome to the family Miley! (and good luck tonight Mike)

Crazy Eight!

Today is our 8th anniversary! It is crazy to think that it has been that long and then I start to think of all that has happened in this time and, WOW, how life has changed! It has been a crazy whirlwind of school, work, kids, moving, and learning sooo much about life and each other. I will not claim to have it all figured out - we are still new at this thing in the BIG picture but I couldn't ask for a more amazing husband, friend and father to my children.
Thanks Mikey for all your love, patience, understanding and, most of all, support as we work on perfecting our eternal family! I look forward to an eternity with you by my side!
Love you soooo much!

a little get-a-way

I had a HOT date last night...

He took me to dinner at CPK where we had our fix of avocados and Pepsi, mmmm. Then we went to the Jazz game (thanks to J&K for the tix) and they won! We got to hang out with Mike's co-worker Randy and his wife, Viv, and there sweet little boy Brittan, who shared his Cheerios with me and Mike! Lots of fun but exactly how old do you have to be to play in the NBA? Cuz I am pretty sure that most of those new guys aren't even old enough to have drivers licenses...
Oh, and thanks to Chaddy for the last minute babysitting - so great to come home to kids asleep in bed!

BOO HOO :(

Remember those cute pumpkins Adi and Luke picked out at Hee Haw Farm last week?
Well, Saturday we took them to my friend Emily's new house and they did some super cool painting on them...

Adi had a very colorful, polk-a-dotty theme, and she even added some ribbon around the bottom as a dress...
Luke had a scary black and yellow swirl theme going on...and then we brought them home and proudly displayed them on our front steps for all the "hood" to see....
Uhhh, nope! Your eyes are definitely not betraying you and I didn't post the wrong picture, and no, they aren't in dads car (luke checked) - somebody's "hood"lums stole those cute pumpkins right off our front steps! Definitely a very, very, very sad day!
All I can say is..."hey dumb kids! Next time walk up 2 more steps and take the ones that haven't {OBVIOUSLY} been lovingly decorated by little kids!"

A boy and his toy!

It has been a long couple of days....Mike has worked a few 15+ hour days in a row to meet all of the final tax dead lines, 3 straight days with the kids kinda gets me a little frazzled! But it is 10 o'clock, the kids are finally in bed, I just did a quick check of my email before we settle down for some serious DVR catch-up (we haven't seen Grey' s, Office, or Friday Night Lights yet - just to name a few) and I came down to find Mike doing this:

We made a quick trip to IKEA after dinner tonight, just as something to do - we didn't get much but as we passed the kid stuff I said to Mike "I always want to buy those trains but I talk myself out of it" He in turn grabbed them and put them in the stroller. I guess they really weren't "just for Luke" (as he told Adi at the store) I just didn't quite catch that he meant they were for him too!

Scarecrow Festival

This morning, as I was getting ready, I was trying to figure out just how many years I have been going to the Scarecrow Festival. I started going with my fam when I was junior highish - I remember helping Brian get through the hay maze (he was little and a great excuse for me to have fun without being immature (: ) so I am guessing it has been about 15 years! I love it! I am pretty sure that our Germany year was the only time I have missed! Mike and I even took nieces and nephews for a couple years as an excuse to still go! Anyway, while we were standing in line waiting to get in, the lady behind us said that this is the 16th year! I just might have been there from the beginning! (that makes me feel old!)

Well, the festival has changed quite a bit from back in the day...The biggest change? They used to have a whole scarecrow tent, people would decorate/create scarecrows and then they would be displayed and auctioned off at some point as part of the fundraiser. (kinda like the festival of trees) Hence the name - SCARECROW festival ?!? But this is no more, and don't ask cuz the kid will look at you like you are crazy! Whatever - other than this - change has been good - lots more to do and best of all it was moved to Thanksgiving Point this year, super close!

Okay, enough on the history lesson. Here are a couple highlights from our trip today! It was stinkin' cold and cloudy but this didn't hinder us much, except when trying to get the kids to eat lunch...

Paislee loved her prizes and jumping in the bounce house!

Scary Lukey was a scaredy cat on all of the bouncy slides and stuff but was a good sport watching Adi try each one out!

I love how Logan is affectionately waiting for Adi in this picture - AFFECTIONATE, yep that describes Logan in a nutshell today(see previous post).
I love that my mom started fun traditions like this and that I can keep doing them with my little family! Thanks mom, love ya!

A few {rAndOm} questions...

My daughter (in black) is 5! should I be freaking out when a boy does this to her while waiting in line? Back off, buddy!

I am at a loss of things to do with Paislee's hair lately...her hair is starting to grow but still pretty short, crazy, thin and messy for the most part. Is this cute or am I pushing things? (Honestly, k?) Mike kept calling her "piggy" when I did this yesterday, is that a good thing or a bad thing?

This is my one and only flower bed - the flowers are doing VERY good as far as I am concerned but... I, well Mike, usually fills this with hay bales, pumpkins and a few crafty fall things. Do I use patience and leave the flowers OR should I rip them out and "fall" it up a little?

And last, but not least, isn't this cute?

Hee Haw for Halloween Fun!

We took the family to Hee Haw's in PG the other day and got way more than I had bargained for! There were so many fun things for the kids to do we wore them out!
Paislee was completely facinated with the "corn" box (instead of sand)
Luke rode the cow (or is that a horse?) on the animal train. Ads and Pais got to ride the pig together!
Paislee met a cow!
Jer did too! (ICK -a little too close for my comfort!)
They had super cool slides! Adi went so fast on the other one that I never could get a good pic!
The boys enjoyed the ducky race - notice my Mike won! Hooray! They also like the corn cob shooter but had to stop cuz the noise was freaking Pais and Isaac out!

On top of all that (and more) we all got us some pumpkins!

This was just Paislee's size! She wouldn't let go of this for the rest of the night, she also enjoyed licking it. YUCK! but her little muddy face was sure cute!
Hooray for Hee Haw! And much more fall fun to come...hope we can fit it all in!

Dress-up!

Sunday, after GC, we were all hanging out on the stairs (I know, kinda random) trying to decide whether we wanted to take a Sunday walk or a Sunday drive and out walks miss paislee with a few things on from adi's dress-up bin.

And once she realized she had the spotlight - she put on a show, playing peek-a-boo for us!

Gotta love the personality this girls got already!

Fall Faux Pas

So, Steph and I decided last week that we would take the fam up AF canyon to look at the leaves and take family pics in the same trip. Great idea, right? Ummm yeah, we thought so too...until we got there! This is my first picture, I know I should have stopped, right then - put the kids back in the car, kept driving and continued enjoying the beautiful scenery but ....NO!
Keep in mind that Steph and her super cool camera were the official pic takers, Mike and I kinda just played around a bit with ours. The real stuff is yet to be seen (Steph went out of town the next day) so cross your fingers for us!

Don't let the prev 2 pics fool you - they were off the "rocks" crazy!

This was the best of all three on my camera - it looks like they were all looking at Steph. OOOPS! Adi - get your finger out of your ear! I have officially decided that it is impossible to get a decent picture with 3 kids!

Weekend whereabouts

Last weekend, Grandma Stippy met us down in warm and sunny St. George to play! Friday we went to breakfast at the Bear Paw {YUMMY} and then hit Fiesta Family Fun Center!

Luke started us off at mini-golf and got a hole-in-one! (with moms help) This was the one and only - we took lots of 5's through the rest of the course (that was our default score, ya know instead of taking a 7,8,9 or 16)

Then Luke and Ads hit the kiddie karts! Check out Adi cruisin! Luke didn't have ANY driving skills - see him in the background? yeah, that guy had to steer all 5 laps around this thing!

Paislee loved the climbing stuff - she took off to the very top of the playground but Adi saved her and brought her down via the slide!

Also at the FFFC we played games, won some tickets and bought some prizes.

The rest of the weekend we mostly kicked it at the condo or eating somewhere yummy! The kids loved the new playground and the swimming (but only for like 15 min - it was a chilly 70*) and most of all GRANDMA! Good to see her - only 81 days until she comes for Christmas!

Well, there you have it! Lots of fun last weekend and absolutely nothin' planned for this weekend! :(
